Urogynecology & Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery Fellowship

The University of Chicago URPS Fellowship faculty and fellows are proud to be entering our third year of accreditation! Our current fellows include Dr. Doug Russo (PGY-7), Dr. Iris Burgard (PGY-6) and Dr. Ashlee Weaver (PGY-5). Dr. Lindsay Gugerty will be joining as a PGY-5 in August of 2026!

Program Overview:

Our goal at the University of Chicago Medicine is to train academic leaders in Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery from Obstetrics & Gynecology and Urology residency backgrounds.

We expect graduates to advance the science of the discipline through research, demonstrate excellence as mentors and educators, and provide outstanding clinical and surgical care. The framework of the fellowship program teaches fellows the necessary skills as well as balancing in- and outpatient clinical-surgical care, scholarship, and research. We believe learning to balance these activities during training is essential to continued success as academic leaders after graduation.

Core Faculty are listed below, and all contribute to the fellowship program’s robust academic environment.
