Julie Chor, MD, MPH, specializes in patient-centered gynecologic and reproductive healthcare for adolescents and young adult women. Her areas of interest include contraceptive care for adolescents and young women with complex medical conditions, menstrual irregularities, and sexually transmitted infection screening and counseling. One of Dr. Chor’s goals is to guide adolescents and young women through their first gynecologic visit and to make this an educational and non-intimidating experience. She collaborates with colleagues in pediatric and internal medicine specialties in developing programs to help adolescents with complex medical diseases transition their medical care, including reproductive health care, as they approach adulthood.
Dr. Chor currently serves as the primary investigator on several studies that
examine the impact of doulas (nonmedical labor coaches who offer emotional and informational support) on different aspects of pregnancy. In the past, she has studied reproductive health experiences of women with cardiovascular disease and other medical conditions.
