The Section of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Chicago, under the leadership of Dr. Helen Kim, offers advanced care for infertility. While larger fertility practices are not always able to provide personalized care to every patient, we work collaboratively with our patients to develop a therapy plan that is tailored to address their particular cause of infertility. We provide a wide range of treatments for women and men, ranging from fertility drug therapy with artificial insemination to in vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and pre-implantation genetic testing of embryos. We have expertise in third party reproduction for patients who require sperm donors, egg donors or gestational carriers.

We are committed to the philosophy that everybody who wants to build a family should be able to do so – when they are ready to do so. We have extensive experience with gay and lesbian couples and understand the fertility options available for them. We offer both IVF and insemination to support LGBT family building and work with third-party reproduction services for egg and sperm donors or gestational carriers.  For couples or individuals who opt to delay parenthood, we offer banking of sperm, eggs, and embryos.

For international patients, seeking comprehensive fertility treatment at University of Chicago, we work with our International Programs Office to help out-of-area patients with travel logistics and obtain necessary tests before the clinic visit. Employees at U of C seeking fertility treatment can receive expedited care through our Friends & Family Program.

As a member clinic of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART), we uphold the highest standard of care.  We are supported by a strong team of nurses, who are members of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).

Additionally, the Section works closely with our Section of Minimally Invasive Surgery.  Their board-certified physician team is extensively trained to deliver the best care while using the least invasive techniques available.  Dr. Laura Douglass works closely with Dr. Kim to treat fibroids, endometriosis, and tubal disease, such as hydrosalpinx.  In addition, Dr. Arthur Haney is renowned for his success in treating pregnancy losses caused by an incompetent cervix with placement of an abdominal cerclage.

Our convenient location in the South Loop, in the Southgate Market, has ample parking, allowing quick in and out monitoring appointments.

Sincerely,

Helen Kim, MD
