Dr. Sarah Ashmore graduated from the University of Chicago's Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery (URPS) program in 2025. During her fellowship, Dr. Ashmore's research interests included operating room sustainability, understanding the impact of the urinary microbiome on a patient’s treatment outcomes and improving our understanding of patient perception of improvement following treatment. Dr. Ashmore participated in multiple Fellows' Pelvic Research Network (FPRN) studies and led numerous multicenter studies, including randomized controlled trials. During her three-year fellowship, Dr. Ashmore served as a member of the AUGS Education Committee and was a course director for the AUGS 2025 "Urogynecology: A Comprehensive Review Course." She was also a member of the PROLOG Editorial and Advisory Committee for the second edition of Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery, and co-authored a chapter in Walters and Karram Urogynecology and Reconstructive Surgery, 6th edition. She had over 20 publications, numerous presentations at annual conferences, and was the recipient of the SGS President's Award Resident/Fellow 2nd Prize Paper 2025. Dr. Ashmore is passionate about global health and participated in medical missions to Rwanda with the International Organization for Women and Development (IOWD) and Guatemala with Partners for Surgery. She also led surgical skills simulations, anatomy sessions and clinical reviews for residents, medical students and physician assistants. After completing fellowship, Dr. Ashmore returned to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she and her husband grew up. She joined UCHealth to establish the Urogynecology Service and is the first fellowship-trained URPS specialist in Northern Colorado.
