Assistant Professor of Obstetrics/Gynecology
Maternal-fetal medicine specialist Nicole M. Sprawka, MD, provides care for women carrying high-risk pregnancies. She specializes in the management of medical complications of pregnancy, including diabetes, fetal growth retardation, heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), multiple gestations (twins, triplets or more), premature birth problems and renal disease.
Dr. Sprawka was awarded a genetic counseling grant from the Illinois Department of Public Health, and served as the project's director and principal investigator. Her research has been published in Prenatal Diagnosis and Obstetrics & Gynecology. She has also given presentations at meetings of the International Society for Prenatal Diagnosis, Society for Gynecologic Investigation, Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Infectious Diseases Society for Obstetrics and Gynecology
