Ken Nunes, MD is an Associate Professor and the Section Chief of General Obstetrics and Gynecology.  He also serves as the Executive  Medical Director of Labor and Delivery.  In this capacity, he has reorganized the medical protocols and streamlined and improved the quality of care for all pregnant women who seek care at the University of Chicago Medicine.  He is currently leading the multimillion dollar development of the new Labor and Delivery facility.   His team is responsible for award-winning recognition from the Leap Frog Quality initiatives organization.  He has been recognized for his teaching through the Golden Apple Award for residency education.  He has also received the Distinguished Faculty Award in recognition of his program development.   His clinical interests include twin gestations, preconception counseling, and management of abnormal Pap smears.
